Katie

Katie is a multifaceted creative, who draws inspiration from nature, movement and the vibrancy of colors, patterns and authentic moments in our shared world.

Katie’s early life interests included political theory and activism, as well as sewing clothing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a focus on Diversity in the Law, after switching from the Design Department at Colorado State University, before relocating to the island of O’ahu.

Her entry in to design and marketing was through management of a yoga studio in 2012. In this role, she was responsible for advertising studio events, growing the community through engaging signage and messaging.

Ultimately this created a space for her artistic roots to take hold. She took the leap into marketing in 2016, beginning her career working for a small marketing company whose primary clients were car dealerships and restaurants.

Since beginning with Cake Media in 2023, Katie has enjoyed working to share the mission-driven messaging and focus of several Maui and national based nonprofits, as well as continuing work with restaurants, and expanding into lū’au clientele as well as sporting events and music festivals.

Katie is most inspired when working with organizations who work to uplift the collective. She works best when she is able to engage with the mission and folks in the organization personally. Katie loves to capture moments through video and photography that will help capture and express the authentic vision and mission that is specific to each organization she works with.

In free moments, you will find Katie training for her next marathon, practicing and studying yoga, hiking Maui’s trails or with her nose deep in a book on a beach.

At that point, she decided to embark on a journey to travel the world, which ultimately led her to the breathtaking landscapes of beautiful Maui.

Amy possesses a keen attention to detail and a distinctive eye for aesthetics, which allows her to utilize color and light masterfully to create striking and creative images.
